Recruitment Scams: What You Need to Know

Recruitment scams are increasing worldwide. Fraudsters impersonate legitimate recruiters and companies through email, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Telegram, SMS, social media, and fake websites to steal personal information, financial details, or money.
Warning signs:
Recruiters using personal or unfamiliar email addresses (Hotmail, Gmail, etc.)
Requests for money, banking details, ID, or passport information
Job offers without proper interviews
Opportunities that seem too good to be true
Pressure to respond immediately or switch to WhatsApp/Telegram
Suspicious links, attachments, spelling errors, or inconsistent branding
Recruiters who cannot be verified on the company's official website
Protect yourself: Never pay to obtain a job. Don't click suspicious links or attachments, and don't provide sensitive information until you've independently verified the recruiter and company. Visit the company's official website yourself and contact the organization using its published contact information.
Stop. Verify. Then proceed.
Cybercriminals exploit trust and urgency. A professional-looking email, company logo, or LinkedIn profile alone does not prove that a recruiter is legitimate.
